Justification for the final recommendation
The National Association of Local Council (NALC) guidance is that a council size of 12 is appropriate for a parish council with an electorate of 4400. Sonning Common’s electorate is only 3211 well short of the NALC figure to justify any increase.
The council has consistently applied the NALC guidance in determining whether or not to recommend support for a request to increase or decrease councillor numbers.
